Week in review / summary email 06/10/2008 02:55pm
I am subscribed to plenty of forums and don't get the oppurtunity to visit them all each day or week for that matter. So i subscribe to their week in review newsletter. It lists out the most active forum discussions of the week (max 10), my profile stats (name, email address, posts) and any upcoming events for the following weeks calendar.

I like this feature myself but would like it to be a bit more, as in a summary of:

Top forum discussions
Site news
new products reviewed
new items 4 sale (classifieds)
new articles
next weeks calendar events (cruises gatherings, etc)
My stats (Topics, replies, etc)

I would also like it to be sent out on say Saturday night or something ready for my Sunday 'rest n browse' session.

Given that it is delivered via emai, we need to be able opt in and out at will too.

Anyone else get something similar happening in their email box?

Hi,

Do you think every week might be a bit much?

I like the idea though. Also - who writes it? Or is it generated by the site? Fark writing one every week man...that's a lot of work - if it were me, I'd consider one a week to be bloody spam via email!

Cheers,
Nik

Its automated, it just gathers the content then sends in the predefined template.

I hear you about it being too much, but for it could be the only update they get as to whats going on.

not a bad option, especially if you're able to make it fortnightly or even monthly...

Monthly is going to be available for sure although it will cover more than just a summary. The reps have a rambling and the site sponsors have some specials they want us to know about.
